This works very well. Not only for watermelon but I love acorn squash which is very hard to cut and aslo Pumkins... I like cooking small pumpkins cut in half in the micro wave this cuts through them much easier than a normal knife that I have. It is cute too

I'll first start off by saying that I was in the market for larger Kuhn Rikon knives, and I came across this knife. I was thinking " Why would I buy a knife just for watermelons?" Somehow ended up buying this anyway. First of all this is a really sharp knife, so I am glad it comes with a shealth. This things absolutely rocks at cutting Watermelons, for me it was pretty much effortless. We are big fruit and vegetable eaters, so this works for all kinds of other things like cantaloupes, honeydew melons, eggplant, and lettuce for my salad. I've also gotten so many compliments on it, it's a very unique knife. The best part is that this knife does what it claims and it's cute. If your anything like me, I like to buy all kinds of unique kitchen things, though sometimes just for looks, this will be a great,versatile addition to your kitchen. This knife is definitely worth every penny, and the Kuhn Rikon cutlery has many other unique items.
